F.E.A.S.T.
F.E.A.S.T. begins early with year! Our first session begins January 26, and continues each Thursday through February 16.
Below is a brief summary of the class offerings:
Session One: 11:00 a.m. - Noon
- Lincoln’s Secretaries - led by Dr. Syster. You will be introduced to John Nicolay, John Hay and William Stoddard, all three served as secretaries to Lincoln. All three wrote biographies. Their stories and observations provide interesting study.
- Alternative Healing Therapies - led by Julie Pennella. Julie will walk you through health and wellness alternatives such as chiropractics and acupuncture with the guidance of Dr. Hoseph Hornberger. Also Reiki with Rachel Taylor.
Session One: 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. (After Lunch)
- Faith and Literature - led by Betty Schattschneider. See the Reading for Renewal list in the church library. Books under consideration are: “The Art of Racing in the Rain,” “Still Alice,” and “The Year of the Flood,” and “Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand.”
- Seeking Justice in Our World - led by Fred Brockmann. Topics address issues studied by the Peace and Justice Team, including: the work of the General Synod, working to make Florida “equal” with guest speaker Joseph Saunders; Working for Women’s Rights, a panel discussion led by Meigs Glidewell; Teaching Peace in Our Schools with guest speaker Bernadette Bennett.
